Speedometer trippin
this isn't a real problem but i'd like to know what's up...if anything. when i take off from a light or anywhere my speedo sits at 0mph until i get to about 10-15. then it shoots up real fast all of a sudden to the speed i'm going....it's a VX cluster in my 94 DX...i just thought this was kinda weird

It is possible your vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is going or at least the connection may be loose. You may want to at least look at it to find out.

Re: Speedometer trippin (CivicEX96)
My 94 DX cluster did that to me also, just a few weeks back. My cluster just turned over 214000 miles. I ended up going to a local junk yard & found a VSS off another 92-95 civic. Even though I don't know the mileage of the one from the junk yard, it looked as though it was a replacement. I swapped mine out for this one & so far so good. I am still off by 5mph, but at least I dont have the needle jumping anymore.
I wanted to replace it for a new one, but I don't have $100+ to get it from Honda.
Also, if you do replace it yourself, make sure to clear the computer by pulling out the Hazard fuse under the hood. I didnt do it to mine & my car ran weird. Once I did, I have not had a problem.
Good luck in fixing it.
