speedometer seems way OFF, dont know how fast im going!!!help
Ok, heres the deal.........just swapped in my ls/vtec, i switch out that obd2 speed check thingy (on top of tranny, under starter) with a OBD1 one, because my harness plug didnt fit the obd2 one. Then i put in a civic si/ex gauge cluster in (my cars a CX) and when i drive my speed says im going like 100 mph when i know im going around 70-80 mph cause unless every car on the road is speeding with me which i know there not. but when i go like 40 its seems as if its only going 30mph, i have no idea whys my speedometer do this....MAYBE MY CARS JUST VERY FAST....lol i doubt it, but does anyone have an idea wat might be wrong.
U think it might be my gauge cluster? or mybe something else, i also forgot were i placed my old cluster or i would of tried switching it already. Help me out. Thanks.

your speed check thingy (VSS) might be busted. you might want to try replacing that. but before you do try cleaning it and making sure all the wires and connections are in good shape. hope that helps

Perhaps your CX VSS isn't working with your B series trans because the final drives are way different. You changed to to a higher final drive, so now the VSS thinks the car is going faster?
Okay, that's a big shot in the dark.

I thought those things calculate the cars that pass by it, not in front of it?
