My speedometer has been turning off maybe a couple times a week if that when driving around town, but it always comes right back on when I get on the car. Last week and last night at the drag races my speedometer just bounces around like crazy and stops working completely when I race. My trap speed is about 100 (from the time the speedo did work). Any ideas on what the problem is? What can I check? Thanks

speedo sensor that bolt's into the trans behind the starter.... check connections?

yes you probably have a loost connection inside the speed sensor.

check vss might have bad connection or might need to be replace...also what about odometer, are the numbers still jumping?. if the odometer work, I would say it could just be that the speedeo needle is bad.....in the case might have to replace gauge cluster....good luck

I unplugged the VSS and plugged it back in now it doesn't work at all and is throwing VSS code.

when you unplug the VSS look at the actual plug and VSS to see if any of the prongs on either of the connections are corroded away...I had the same problem...you will probably need a new VSS and a new plug...

Where did you buy the new sensor and plug from? Napa or do I have to go through Honda dealer?
