i replaced the speed cable(thing in the tranny) in my car because the speedometer kept shutting off. while come to find out tonight, i see it is still shutting off after i replaced the speed cable. anyone know what the problem is?

the gears in the back of the speedo could be busted.

do you think they are busted? because it will work for a while and then all of a sudden it just shuts off.

mine does the same thing. my friend told me that it could be one of three things. the gears are busted, the ground is loose, or the wire isnt making full contact. you changed the wire right? so check the ground, it could be loose. if not that, check the gears. mine is rom the wire. it only works if its hot outside, it doesnt work during cold weather. go figure...
