speedo very jumpy

speedo very jumpy
ok just replaced the motor in a 98 civic and once the new wngine was in the car the speedo worked fine for a night and then it became very jumpy and inaccurate one other problenm is the lighting has a very slim flicker in it... any ideas?

just a suggestion, but check your connections with your dash lights, to make sure. and for the speedo, check the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) to see if there is any loose connections or if you need a new vss.

If you have a multimeter, make sure you have constant power running to your dash. Could be a loose or shorted wire.

Check and recheck ALL the grounds for the engine. The one that goes to the tranny will do some weird stuff to your guage cluster. Clean any that are dirty or rusty.
