speedo problems need some help/info

just to start I did research and found a thread that was a simular problem. I posted and they said dont thread jack so here is my own thread. the speedo has not worked since I got the car 93 eg coupe, gsr engine/trans. replace the vss and the cluster. was testing the three wires that go to the vss. black, black-yellow and orange. you guys say that I only should get 5volts to the sensor? I tested 12v on the orange and the solid black was ground and the black-yellow strip was jumping 8v to 10v. Is the ecu bad? Im stumped I have pin out chart, wire diagrams what should I test next? today out of nowhere the speedo started jumping around like crazy and it worked for like 10 seconds. this is the only time it ever worked. checked gounds, plug ends for corrosion.

I have the same problem. Fuel pump won't switch on, MPH don't work, and My rpm stay under 2k even if im in 1,2,3,4,5 gear at any MPH.

Only thing working is Gas and Temp.

Changed VVS and the whole 9 yards.

Next step is to swap to JDM white face, can't go wrong then.

Seriously? Then take your car to a mechanic because the only way to learn is from information gleaned from those who have gone before you. If you don't want to learn how it works then start throwing parts at it and I'm sure it'll fix itself.

You have no problem busting out the voltmeter, but every problem in the world with an organized pool of information that will probably solve your problem?

I'm confused.

Problem fixed, ended up getting a brand new BAD vss. Thanks HondaPartsHero, I was able to diagnose the problem in no time with that info.
