speedo, alternator and battery problems
the other day i was wheel spining like a melon and my speedo stopped working.
the next day my car died at a junction and i had no power left in my battery...
I called out the RAC and the guy spotted that the fuse that controls the speedo sensor and the alternator had blown, so we replaced it and tested the car, drove it and the fuse blew again, so we disconnected the speedo sensor and tested it and it was fine, so i drove home but by the time i got home the fuse had blown again, ive replaced it and left it ticking over for an hour to charge the battery and the fuse is ok still.
The next day i tested the alternator reving the car to check if it is the alternator that is blowing the fuses it but it doest seem to be that, ive used a multimeter to check the voltage and with my lights on high beam, heating on, stereo on, power steering pump on full, its around 14.2v - 14.5v so that should be ok right??
i disconnected the alternator to check if that helped, drove around the block and the fuse blew again so it cant be the alternator or can it?
im guessing its a lose wire or connection somewhere that causes me this trouble when the cars moving??
please help, im new lol
