speed sensor
hello, i have a honda civic 1.4 lsi 1996. its basically a standard car.
i want to fit a sat nav unit and i need to know where the speed sensor pulse wire is in my car. I cant find it, i rang the manufacturer and they told me i need a wheel kit that generates the pulses for the sat nav unit.
Im sure there must be a speed sensor somewhere on the car as it comes with abs, which uses wheel speed sensors to works. I have ask honda dealers but they dont know nothing, the only thing they interested in is selling cars!
please can some one put me in the right direction and help me locate the wire that carries the signal from the speed sensor.
Please email me on shierazb@hotmail.com
thank you
i have probably posted this in the wrong area and sorry about that

Re: speed sensor (bashir)
The speed sensor or VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is located on the passenger side of the car sticking out of the top of the transmission.
EDIT: I don't know that it will carry the correct signal for your Navigation unit, but that's where it is.

This tells a bit more about it.

This thread has a picture if you go down far enough. It's after he's replaced the axle. It shows what it is and how to remove it.
It literally sticks out of the top of the transmission and has an electrical connection that sits on top of it.
