Default Is speed 100% based on gearing?

Like the title says is the gearing the only factor in how fast you go in a certain gear? Without raising the RPMs will you go the same exact speed in 3rd gear as you would with a stock motor and tranny vs the same motor pushing 400hp?

why, would power matter?

the main reason that people add power to their cars is to be quicker, not faster.

because of friction and drag.

you might not have enough power to get up 140mph

lets say you take a bike when you pedal whats pushing it <you are>
but let try not to pedal the bike to 140 mph please
