Spark Plugs wet with gas
 
Hi hope someone can help, thanks in advance.

Here is what I got
1999 Honda Civic DX
Engine: D16Y7 Stock

MY PROBLEMS IN A NUTSHELL ARE AT THE BOTTOM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THE WHOLE THING BUT IT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO

So i recently had this D16Y7 put in because my other engine also a d16y7 broke.
I bought it as a long block so all the parts from the old d167y engine where put in this one.

Here's the list of the new parts that went in when mounting the new engine.
-Timing belts
-Oil
-Water pump
-Spark plugs
-Thermostat
-Oil Filter
-Some others

Here is my problem. I turn the car on its fine and drives fine no weird engine noises. The problem is when I turn it off.
If I turn it on immediately after turning it off it works perfectly
If I leave it off for more then two minutes it wont start anymore until after 30-60 minutes
I took out the spark plugs and noticed that they are wet with gas.
So when I let it sit for about an hour it turns on again because by that time they are dry.

It also has a problem where the radiator fluid in the reservoir is boiling. At first I thought it was the thermostat so I replaced that. Than after running the car for a good while the radiator blew up near the cap so I had to get the radiator replaced. I think it blew up because the old engine started getting oil in the radiator when it broke and therefore clogged it up and caused it to blow up due to pressure. The replacement radiator has been fine though but the radiator fluid keeps on boiling and the car temperature is fine.

Also when I crank the car to turn it on after turning it off, besides not turning on, its also spilling radiator fluid all over the place from the reservoir. I filled it up to the line but when I turn it off the max radiator fluid level rises by itself.


There is no CEL light, I tried the method to pull CEL codes without the computer by joining two cables by the passenger foot rest. When I join them even though there is no CEL it gives me a cylinder 3 misfire code. The engine has absolutely no weird noises and the engine idles fine. Is this info relevant?

Here are my problems again in a list
-I turn the car off for more than two minutes and it wont turn on anymore + spark plugs are wet
-Radiator fluid boiling in the reservoir
-No CEL but still getting cylinder 3 misfire


I hope you guys can help me troubleshoot all three problems but the not turning on one is the most important one to me
PS. Before the engine swap all the parts where working fine. No overheating, Car would turn on no problems. Please help, thanks :cry:

Spark plugs wet with gas sounds like bad injectors.

Injectors are kinda expensive to replace. Is there anyway to check that its the injectors before replacing them?

Google "How to test injectors" for starters.
