Yeah you need an extendsion, along with a deep-well socket...I'm not too sure I think it's a 5/8. Don't worry, I had this same question but I just went out and did it... make sure you apply the no-lok they gave you when you bought your plugs, cause if not they'll seize up and you won't be able to get em out.

heh yeah use an extension and a long socket that will fit the plug, You are not going to notice anything but for a couple bucks its good maintenance.

5/8 spark plug socket w/ magnet. You can pick it up at any auto parts store. You'll also need an extension and 3/8 ratchet.

If your going to start working on your own car and it's something you plan to do for a long time, buy a good set of Craftsman tools from Sears. You can get a great set for under $200.00
Yes you will need a 6" extension on the 5/8 socket. Gap the plugs to the MFG's spec's
install the new ones with a little anti-seize compound on the threads. When you install the new ones, turn them in by hand until the washer contacts the head, then tighten them about a 1/4 turn to crush the gasket/washer.
The old one's may be hard to remove.
Oh when you remove the plug wire, be careful not to rip it, give it a little twist back and forth to help it break free. It may also be a good idea to replace the wires, one at a time too.
download the service manual for your car.

If you want to buy OEM wires and tune up stuff try http://www.hondapartsdeals.com...X9tCw
Just plan everything out and go slow until you get some experience.
Good for you for wanting to learn about your car and how to save money.
Another thing I have done is to have a 6" extension welded to a 5/8 spark plug socket. It's a PITA when the socket sticks on the plug.
There are also tools where the socket is part of a T handle so the socket can't stick on the plug.

Re: Spark plug removal
I have a 1991 Honda Civic DX and have one spark plug that won't move and now it's completly stripped. Can you please let me know what I can do?

Re: Spark plug removal
Drive it until it's an issue, then pull the head and get it out from the other side...not really anything you can do about it without the head being off since the hexagon shape is now rounded off.
