Spark plug blew out?
Hey guys I'm new to the site but I need some help? Any would be a appreciated I have a d16z6 my spark plug blew out of the farthest cylinder on the right facing the motor. I know the threads are done I wanna fix the threads and not pull the head? I know the threads are m14x1.25 for a spark plug but I have been looking at the auto parts store they have the kits but the socket size on most thread chasers is bigger thn a 19mm socket and a 19mm won't fit in a spark plug hole of a d series motor? I also need something thts long enough.....once again I dont wanna pull the head? Any suggestions on what doing or finding a tool tht would fit and also procedures on doing the threads? Thanks

they sell taps with a 3/8 drive head and you should use a helicoil kit to repair the cly you drill it out larger tap it then install a tread insert good idea to start it with out the plug in to blow out any filings some grease on the tap helps to hold the filings also

Re: Spark plug blew out?
good luck i will say it's much simpler from the bottom though . tool for ford pickups is a good option as they have deep spark plug tubes also and they have lots of problems with plugs blowing out or siezing in the head.
