Spare tire cover replacement?
The Virginia humidity has warpped that fiberboard spare tire cover in the trunk beyond usefullness. Anyone know a good material to cut a new one out of? Luan is the first thing that comes to mind, but I'm not sure it'll be strong enough. Trying to keep a very stock look.

I had the same problem and just used some 1/4 inch plywood. Laid the old cover on the plywood and traced it. used a saber saw to cut it out $15 total and 15 minutes work. I would suggest painting it with ployurethane to keep it from having the same problem too soon.

Home depot actually has the same material and its the same thinckness. You would have to cut it to size. Or buy another one.
