on a 93 civic with manual trans. never had any issues before. yesterday I put a new exedy clutch and flywheel in it. no problems starting that night.
the next day, I go to start it, it starts fine but there is a nasty screech sound like the starter gear isn't disengaging fast enough. both starter bolts are tight.
I'm going to recheck all the wiring tomorrow, and possibly pull the starter and check the teeth on the starter gear. but was wondering if anyone else had this issue before and what fixed it.

I don't think it has anything to do with wiring, could possibly have to do with the worn gear on the starter mating up against a brand new flywheel.

just as an update. when loosening the starter, there is just a tiny bit of slop in it. I was able to adjust it enough to get the sticking/grinding to stop.
