sound deadening weight
im planning to remove the sound deadening off my ej1 so i can paint the interior. i was just curious if anyone knew the total weight of the sound deadening material in an eg/ej

from what ive read up on (from several weight reduction threads), a very small amount and not enough to truely matter, unless your on a profesional level of competition.
but imo i would do it if your looking at painting the interior

It's not a whole lot, gonna be much louder if you're leaving it out though... if that's a concern. I like a quiet and smooth ride. :3

x2 especially if you have a leak like mine and the mat was soaking up water and making it really heavy. That firewall mat is where the weight is! (or at least a wet one)

^ Yeah it's like 18-25 lbs. I wanna say the 2 door teg me and my friend took it out of came out to 21 give or take the pieces that chipped off on the ground that didn't make it into the bag we weighed. It's definitely AT THE LEAST 15 lbs. I imagine you're taking the backseat out as well, should be a decent weight savings, spare tire too and whatever paneling you're taking out will be good.
