I found a great thread on sound deadening against road noise.

Basically he used Grace Ice and Water Shield and then carpet padding (non foam type).

I would never put fatmat in my car. It is not a proper deadener and it will smell like roadwork in your car whenever it is hot out. Raamat is better and slightly more expensive but I'm willing to pay that extra price to avoid the nasty smell.

Just to turn this into an ACTUAL tech thread: Does anyone know the best/most effective areas to deaden to kill road noise? Both of my doors will be deadened, but I'm wondering if a deadened firewall and by the kick panels will help any.

I discovered a link to another site with cheaper sound deadening material here:

The Grace Ice and Water stuff is really expensive and is more than what I need (67 feet!). It's now $118 for the stuff.

I can buy cheaper stuff and muli-layer it if need be. I plan on doing this before winter sets in. I spend 2 hours a day in my civic so sound deadening is certainly welcome.
