ok i heard my friend do it in his car, it sounds BADASS in person i was like WTF when i first heard it but here it is
http://s91753993.onlinehome.us/sohcrev.mp3
its like this, ur in nuetral, and u rev to 7K, then turn off the motor and hit the gas pedal it makes this wierd but badass intake sound...then since the motor is already spinnin down in RPMs u just turn the key back and it turns on again...now..is this bad for the motor?? lol my friend was doing it everywhere and his car is fine so im just wondering.

Revving a D16Z6 to 7000rpm = retarded.
Revving to 7000rpm in neutral = retarded.
Turning the car off at max valve lift = retarded.
Turning it back on with the accelerator down = retarded.
Jesus Christ on a crutch, Timmy. What the **** would make someone do that more than once - A and B - how did he figure out this "trick" in the first place!??! Stop doing that immediately. ******* retards.

didn't old v8 heads and muscle car guys use to do something like that.. it used to make there cars backfire really loud or something..
my neighbor used to do it in his camaro and his chevelle and then his GTO every once in a while sometimes it would shoot flames out the pipes...
IMO its pretty lame but whatever

I think they were criticizing how far you were revving, not the fact that you were revving at all. I have no idea what the fuel cut is for that engine, so I don't know, but I'd guess 7K or more would be pushing it.

Haha... my car has made that sound a few times... accidentally though!
I used to have a lanyard on my keychain which would get cought on my seat lever, then I'd bump it with my leg and turn the ignition off!
Freaked me out once while I was doing 100+ I didn't know what happened!
...sounded cool though

Why would I rev my engine at a stoplight? Even in my younger, stupid days, when I was street racing, I didn't do that. No, I NEVER rev my motor in neutral, especially to a high rpm.

Re: (rodrez.)
i listened to it and it doesn't sound "badass", actually, it sounds retarded.
not my car so you can do whatever you want to it. just drive safely and don't put other people in danger.
this thread sucks.

Re: (viet)
I don't have speakers on this computer, but this reminds me of the old hot roders that put flamer setups on their cars. Since the motors were caurburated, when they cut the ignition (w/ a switch), the raw air/fuel would be dumped out through the exhaust pipe where the hot header, or the addition of an exhaust mounted spark plug, would cause an explosion out the pipes.
I would have to say that cutting the ignition with the key is the same as cutting it w/ a computer (like hondata's full throttle shifting system), so I don't think this act would neccisarrily harm your motor. I personally wouldn't do it though, cause making a scene in public is for people w/ small dicks... (it is fun to goof around w/ your friends though)
You could just rig up an injector kill switch, that would do the same thing w/o having to reset the ECU... I'll bet it will through codes though...

omg you have no idea how bad it is for the engine to turn the key off while revving
