Default sorry for the newbie q, but automatic eg?

looking into buying a one owner canadian spec 93 hatchback from a co-worker for my wife to drive for a couple years until we save up enough money for a house. first of all is there anything i need to know about honda auto's from this vintage?

my main question however is this, after wifey is done with it i plan on doing some kind of motor swap into to car and having another toy. my thinking is that while i'm already changing motors, i'll just get a new trans as well. maybe something with a limited slip while i'm at it. is there any honda specific problem with this? i 91 golf was originally an auto... so i can't see any huge issue. i mean i'll be changing over the engine computer and everthing when i do the swap.

i'll post some pics when i bring the car home.

don't know for sure what motor i'm gonna put in it yet. i was kinda just thinking of buying a wrecked gsr and swaping everything over. i think even the seats and the brakes with swap over right???

the girl that has it now is a canadian citizen, but it is registered in washington state. even has wa plates. it might be grey market i donno....i know some people have trouble bringing cars down from canada and some don't. i know a guy here in town with an audi a3, it's sorta grey market but what the hell?

is there anything else weird with a canadian spec car?
