Default Something is wrong with my baby! Help!

Its a d16y7

It reved and hit limiter, then I popped it in neutral and kept reving

At the time of this happening I was trying to beat a yellow light. Anyone have this problem? A friend of mine said it sounds like a problem with the idle trottle control.

you might have a stuck throttle cable. clean out you throttle body and see if it goes away, check for binds in the cable.ect

could be more simple that a stuck throttle...heres the story... As you mentioned i was drivin and it all of a sudden hit the rev limiter so i put it in neutral and got the pedal back. Luckily i was about 1000 feet from my local napa so i pulled in and got some carb cleaner and sprayed it on. As i continued on to my girlfriends it happened again, so i figured it must need a scrubbin. I asked my gf for an old toothbrush as i refused to drive with her in the car if its acting up. Turns out my floormat was ridin up and my pedal got stuck behind it. So check for that and if not do what i mentioned with a toothbrush and carb cleaner.

Exactly. It's definitely something with the throttle cable, that would be the only thing to keep it revving.

Turns out it was my floor mat, cause I caught it doing to same thing yesterday. Some how it getting wedged under the pedal seems to give it gas.
