Default Something wrong with the dyno or I'm just a good BOLT ONs person....

I went to church's yesterday around 2:30 to get my car dyno tuned. I was HOPING CROSSING fingers that it'll make max of 140 hp..... I have seen other b16s stock making like max 145 hp. I was VERY VERY suprised when i saw my dyno gragh...
My setup: headers with custom 2.5" flange straight back to spoon exhaust no cat., cai, LSD clutch kit / flywheel, lots of tunning up and maintanance, umm sparkplugs and wires, I guess thats it... Can someone explain this AND i KNOW at church theyre one of the best tuner so nothing wrong with thier parts..

almost 20 hp gain.....thats too big to be true...

Mainly how does the car feel? Sean knows what he is doing + he does tune some of the fastest sfwd around....

I also think that his dyno reads a lil bit higher if I am right,, but if not please correct me

see the top of your dyno sheet? i believe it says "Flywheel TQ/HP"

i remember reading that it was measured at the hubs and not the flywheel however...

Dynapacks don't measure whp.

not a b16 person, but dont they have 160hp at the crank? so really you only gained 17hp, if that.

THe car feels... strong i guess i havent driven any other car besides mine... I did ask him if it was whp or flywheel, he saids its hub wheel its like in between difference of 10hp. And nope the computer is pretty accurate. They were pretty suprised also, they said normally a STOCK b16 on the dyno runs anywhere around 140 - 145 but not this high. Yeah trust me they were suprise. ANd yes I'm positive they are good tuners and they know what they are doing VERY nice people btw.

By the way, I made this thread not because I think they are some crappy fake tuner but because i was REALLY suprised and see if its real or if i overlooked something, so please don't get me wrong. Thanks

i have a 200 civic si b16 stock with just full no cat 2.5 exhaust 4-1 headers , injen cai, ngk plug wires, and SPOON cloned chippped p28 ecu i vtec at 4400 and revlimit at 9500.

so stock my b16 puts about 160 to the flywheel

and a gsr puts about 185 to the flywheel

well i have raced a few gsr's with full bolt on's similar to my setup but they are still running the stock gsr ecu

i stay about even with the and pull maybe 1/4 car length from 1st to 4th gear

so a gsr with bolt on's is pusing about 195-200hp to the flywheel
so i would guess my b16 set up with my ecu is pushing maybe 195-200hp to the flywheel..

oh yea and my chipped p28 was tuned and chipped b18 for all motor high compression gsr with pistons injectors fuel rial full exhaust
..but i put it in my all stock b16 motor and have been running it for about a year and i push the **** out of my lil honda...my ecu made a HUGE difference in power
through the entire rpm range.. i love it i beat any b16 with just bolt on's by 3-5 lenghts easy pulling on them from the start to finish

so what would you guys think/estimate my b16 is pushing to the flywheel???

HA! You wish. With stock cams and no FI you are nowhere near 200 at the flywheel.

Your buddys GSRs are either running like ***, they can't drive, or their integras are heavy as *****

Im gonna have to agree. No way stock gonna put out that much even if its to the flywheel. But yes after the tunning and chipping the ecu, car runs smoother (maybe cause the engine check light is off now.....) and pulls very nicely.

No NO no you guys know what? Maybe all this is just in my head...... it feels the same..

I have heard some people say church's dyno reads high, I don't know though as I've never been. Either way everyone I've heard talk about sean says hes an amazing tuner.

Hub dynos always read high. You are most likely making 140-145.

1)Sell your other header you only need one

2)Remove that ecu, its hurting performance. It is making you run hella rich and you don't need to rev past the stock 8200 rev limit. Put your vtec where it's supose to be.

church's dyno has been known to read a little high. put that thing on a dynojet and you'll have much lower numbers.

Just take it to the track and see what it runs and traps. Those numbers don't lie.
