Default Something is seriously wrong with my si!!!!

OK, i got a 2k si with 7k miles aem cai and apexi dunk cat back. My friends got a 2k si with 25k miles, aemcai dc sports catback header and test pipe. We raced and he beat me by 3 car lengths from 0-60. My friends EX with i/h/e beats me also. I've replaced my plugs and my fuel filter. I did a compression test and i got between 205 and 215 on all the cylinders. I get about 220 miles per tank which sucks and i'm not always in vtec either. I havn't checked the oil level yet, but i had an oil change about 2k miles ago. It's not the driver either cause when i drove my friends si i 0wned my own car ;[ What can i check? This is pissin me off really. I bought it with 3k miles and it sat for like 6 months. What do i do!??!

maybe your car is just one of those slow cars from the factory. some hondas are faster than others even though they are the same car. some are faster and some are slower maybe you just got outa luck and came across one of the slow ones. just a thought.

just get yourself a timing gun and check it.

c-speedracing.com has instructions if you dont know how to do it.

Dude, that's crazy. Maybe he's hiding a nitrous bottle there somewhere? Go to your local track and see what you run. With your mods I'm guessing a mid to low 15.

stock wheels.... In my post i said i then drove his car and killed my own car in his... so it's not the driver. Aren't timing guns expensive? I'm just gonna use it for like 30 mins. Does autozone loan em?
LoL no my friend doesn't have nitrous.

well some cares are just slower than others, someone arelady asked what size/weight wheels are you using?
also do you have a stereo in the turnk?
take her to the track and do some runs. youll find out if its you or the car. my car was slow as a ****.
18.3 (with rims and system) on stock EX motor
15.9 with my b16. intake header (in need of exhaust and clutch BAD)

yeah my opinion too either the driver. or timing on minor thing it might have to do with is... do you both have stock rims ? same size in diameter? or is he running like 15" rims or wuts going on ..

320 to the tank...hmmmm I'm only getting about 250 to 280....It all really depends on how i drive it though. Whats this deal about a slow car from the factory. I understand that not every car from the factory is the same, some faster, some slower. But ive never heard of anything to the extreme that he is talking about.

320! dang i get about 220-250, car would run fine if the damn clutch didnt slip, use to have an ex and a friend of mine had the same exact car and he would kill me with it plus i had more mods than him. so i think some cars are slower from the facotry.

i have say about 50lbs in the trunk, stock si rims on both cars, but this was happening when i was stock also....

guys guys guys it's NOT the driver, we switched vehicles, when i drove his i beat my car even more then when he drove it. We were racing from a roll

well do it from a roll this time, and you`ll really know.....

as for what might be up? do a full tuneup, chance distributor, cap&rotor, plugs, wires, etc

check your timing and advance/retard it accordingly....

I've never heard this from a Honda. Where did you hear this?

And even IF there are slight variables, I don't think it would make the difference BrandonClaps is talking about.

wow i think the people on this post have like the worst A-D-D ever hahaha!!

read before you post people!

anyways BrandonClap-- check youre timing this could make a big difference. Stock is 16 degrees, i advanced mine to 19degrees, if youre 12-14 then it would make a big difference. Buy a timing gun and do that first.

Make sure you dont have an exhaust leak anywhere, like head>header, header>cat, or cat>exhaust, as this would make a huge difference as well.

I would also suggest getting a fuel pressure regulator and gauge to see where you fuel pressure is at...should be around 38-mid40psi i believe. If youre running wayyy rich then it could be bogging and losing alot of power.

Also try cleaning youre air filter who knows maybe its just reeeallllly dirty.

Final suggestion: Buy dyno time!!!! Then you can find out what kind of power its actually making and compare it to see if youve just got a lazy motor or something.
Then you can tune around youre problems just make sure you go with an experienced dyno tuner. You should be in the 145-150whp range with I/H/E, I made 145whp w/ just an intake but ive been told i have an especially strong motor.

Good luck!!
