Is something missing?
Ok, as weird as this is I just noticed this today after owning my car for about a month that I purchased off my cousin. it's a b18 motor, on the starter there is a hole on the top, is there supposed to be a ground there? I have the one on the tranny, thought that was sufficient for both starter/tranny.
You can see it's threaded, and clean looking in the hole (kinda goldish), like there was a bolt there once, but what is it for?
(SORRY FOR THE QAULITY)
Thanks!!!

yes, you're missing the ground for the starter. That's what it's for. Pick up some speaker cable and make a ground for it
edit: and thanks jL iLLuZiOnz 9 for the resize

I could be wrong, but I actually think that hole you are talking about (atleast it's the one I think you are talking about) is for bolting the wire harness to the starter. I honestly don't believe that hole serves any other function aside from that.

Yeah, see I thought the tranny ground point to the chasis was for both starter and tranny.

Nah, that's not the grounnd for the starter. If I'm not mistaken the starter is case grounded. Plus you better be using some thick gauge speaker wire if you're expecting to start your car without a fire. It takes a big jolt of juice to get an engine running.
