something is leaking
I'm still having more problems with my car. When I drive the car it makes a humming and thumping sound that gets louder poportionally to how fast I go. It also gets louder if I turn. I thought it might be my brakes, so i jacked the car, took of the front wheels and brakes and stepped on the gas - same noise. I noticed some fresh fluid on the ground where I had just parked it, so I put some cardboard to find where the link is coming from. Looks like its coming from tranny.
Also, WTF is all that orange stuff on the tranny? Is is supposed to be sealant or something? All i need now is to have to replace the tranny; i just spent a fortune replacing my engine I'm thinking about taking it to another shop since my current one can't figure it out. Anyone know of any good shops in NJ?

WTF? That orange stuff is strange as hell and should not be there.
Looks like you are leaking tranny fluid. But the pictures are too big and angle isn't very good.
Sounds like an axle seal.

All the suspension components on the right side are extremely greased up. Could it just be an axle seal? How hard it it to replace?

Axle seals are very easy to replace. It's just a gasket that seals the oil inside the tranny casing with the axle inputs.
They run about $3 I believe.

Damn you're quick. That would be the correct part if it is for your application.

Re: something is leaking (poison)
actually, the tranny is supposed to be a GSR, so this would probably be better. Then again all the suspension is aftermarket and is getting on my nerves. I'll probably go back to the junk and get the stock axles, control arms, etc

Re: something is leaking (USDMDC2)
Before you purchase anything, however. Make sure the source of the oil leak is where the axle input is.
It COULD be where that ghetto orange **** is and the gear casing not sealing with the bell housing properly.
Clean everything up and see where the source of the leak is.
