something happened last night
so heres the story,
I was trying to do a compression test last night on my hatch. Took all the plugs out and whatever did everything correctly (except for cutting off the fuel) tried to hold the tester in the plug hole but it wouldnt hold the air in.
So i gave up and put all the plugs and wires back in.
So i go out to my garage today to start her up and it will barely start. It'll start and sputter and then die. After awhile, it wouldn't start at all. I went to walmart to get some mobil 1 bc it's been burning oil also and it was 2 quarts low (oops) so i threw that in and tried to start it up (even though it shouldn't have any effect on starting it up) and it starts but sputters and idles VERY roughly...almost like one of the pistons is ramming against the valves on every cycle. I tried ot give it gas a couple times and it then proceeds to sound like a dying lawn mower. The exhaust flow is not even at all it shoots out in spurts from the muffler.
what the hell is going on?
Misfiring? Maybe I damaged a wire/the dizzy cap/a plug in the process?

Well, if you had a cylinder full of fuel, then it could have been very very bad for your motor.
Water in the oil?
Leakdown test?

OK, just so we're all clear here.
You attempted to do a compression check, pulled the plugs and wires, but left the fuel on. Attempted ended, reinstalled all the plugs and wires correctly, and now it idles very rough.
Are you able to see if there is still fuel in the combustion chambers?
Are there any unusual noises coming from the engine?

thats the gist of it.
I can't exactly tell if there is any fuel in the chambers, i changed the dizzy cap wires and plugs today and still to no avail.
The idle is like nothing ive seen before.
It is so rough that the entire car shakes with each cycle. It almost sounds like something is colliding within the engine...is the timing somehow out of wack?
