someone's minime, now my problem
Looking for some insight and to correct me if I'm wrong.
The engine block is a D15B7 with a supposed 1.6l vtec head stamped p08-5 on front. I am unsure of what motor the distributor is from. The valve cover just says "HONDA" on it and there is a vtec solenoid on the left rear on the cyl. head. The ecu is a p28 and car has been wired from obd0 to obdI. There was a new honda timing belt included (not installed), which i researched the part number on the bag and found it to be for a 92 civic vx. IPT fuel rail with no markings and I am not sure which injectors are in use. I took a look at the spark plugs and found only the #2 plug had oil on the threads - just needs a new plug gasket. There is white smoke out the tailpipe while driving - Replacing the head and head gasket should do the trick.
The car has had a code 43 for quite some time, I hope this will be taken care of by replacing the fuel rail, fuel filter, and O2 sensor.
What I plan on doing-
Replace current mess with a full D16Z6 cyl. head including IM/TB and fuel rail. New y8 metal head gasket, vc gasket, plug gaskets, z6 belt, and ngk plugs/wires rotors.
Missing anything?

Yea, that FAQ was very helpful in deciding what I needed.

Re: someone's minime, now my problem
Here are some pictures. The intake manifold looks to be from a 95 civic ex. Fuel rail is stock Honda IPT. The head, marked by "P08-5" and "DCCD", is what I have no clue about, the valve cover looks identical to a y7 but there is a vtec solenoid on the back of the head?

P08 is a '92-'95 VTEC head. The valve cover doesn't mean anything, the '92-'95 VTEC valve covers and the '96-'00 Civic valve covers (regardless of VTEC or non-VTEC) are interchangeable.
Other than that, your plan sounds like a good idea.

You're on the right course....
P08 could be z6 or one of the JDM variants. In any case, it's effectively a z6 head. All sohc vtec valve covers, as well as all obd2 d series motors used the same valve cover. Don't let it confuse you.
What I would do is run a compression test. I'm thinking it will turn out fine. Reason being, you're throwing a fuel code... Judging by the position of the distributor, and knowing you're throwing that code, I'm guessing you have a bad O2 sensor, and badly need to set your ignition timing. Normally, you'd think black smoke. It may be gray, but add in the cold and you're looking pretty white...
When you do a mini-me swap, most people say to run the VX belt, since the blocks have the same deck height, or close to it... While you're doing the compression test, you might as well check that the crank and cam timing are aligned properly as well.

Well I'll be damned, it's a z6 according to this "94 SI D16z6 5sp -------P08-5"
https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/d-series-head-codes-786093/
Will do! couldn't hurt to run a comp test and swap out the O2 sensor first. Also the car didn't pass smog - high NOX

Re: someone's minime, now my problem
Finally got around to the comp test tonight. 190 across all four! I don't have the tool to do the leak down test and I don't think autozone has it as a loaner. Going to check/adj. ignition timing later.

Re: someone's minime, now my problem
I don't know a thing about D motors but I think 190 is pretty good - closed throttle. Anyone know what it should be for a d15b7block/d16z6head?

Re: someone's minime, now my problem
Does anyone have a picture of the cam pulley for the d16z6? The one on the head does not have the bottom TDC mark to line up with the timing belt back cover (also missing). All it has on the cam pulley is the "up" and side marks with a "1.6" mark on one of the spokes? Now could it be that I'm supposed to use that "1.6" mark to line up TDC?
