Someone clear this up for me before I go insane.
Hey guys,
I'm doing an Auto to manual swap and I've searched and have EVERYTHING I need except for one piece of info. There seems to be ALOT of different terms and misnformation and I need to know before I get going int he next few days.
The mounts: I know I need a tranny bracket and tranny mount. I've heard things like:
rear lower
Lower left
etc etc.
I *need* to know WHICH bracket and mount I need. If i'm standing infront of the car, which mount/bracket is it that dosnt line up. Is it the one on the left, the one close to the firewall..where?!
Help

If it is an EG civic, you have to cut the upper tranny mount out and weld a new one on maybe 2" forward.

And by upper tranny mount your speaking of the mount on the left correct?
I have both the tranny bracket and mount here. So Basically i drill out the old spot welds, weld this new bracket in and use the new mount?
(Yes its an EG)

Contact Place Racing and purchase their bolt-in auto-to-manual topside tranny mount.
Screw cutting and welding on your car's UNIBODY.
My shop has used their kits many times and they are great.

I'd love to do such a thing. The only problem is that I cannot currently afford such a mount. It costs something like $150USD. After everythings said and done I'll be looking at almost 350-400$ Canadian for one mount. I cannot justify spending that sum of cash for one mount.
I'd rather drill and weld.

Well then call honda and ask them how muchn the 5-speed weld-on framerail mount costs, since you'll NEED that. It's shorter.
The 5-speed weld on mount is sorter height-wise that the sutomatic one.
I'll call honda and see how much it costs for the 5-speed one...

I currently have these 2 parts here (assuming these ones are the same).
The Manual tranny bracket. It was welded to an EG frame..i drilled ou the spot welds and it came off of the car(Junkyard car). I also have the Left tranny mount...the one that actually mounts ot the tranny then to the chassis.
