Bad MAP sensor.
Bad primary 02 sensor.
Poor functioning TPS.
Poor IAVc (mainly if your car isnt idling).
Bad driving habits.
Bad fuel injection/fuel filter.
Wrong oil viscosity.
Bad air filter.
Clogged exhaust.
Poor ignition/bad fuel burn.
Improper timing.
Bad tire pressure.
Improper alignment.
Carbon buildup.
All just off the top of my head, pick your favorite.

Re: (97Ej6mike)
you should be able to pull 300-350 miles to a tank (unless you have a VX, then it's 250-300 due to the smaller tank)
unless this is an auto trans setup. then it's decreased from there. (you mentioned an auto ECU but not the CEL19 that comes with auto trans ECU with manual trans setup)
Are you running a chipped ECU? (death to mpg figures unless it's tuned)

agreed, but I fixed the MAP and O2 references. a bad sensor will set a CEL.
another thought is the CELs.

the knock sensor CEL may cause a decrease in mpg readings, also the VTEC issue will cause the car to not run even close to it's potential. Which may cause you to drive it differently. (ie foot to the floor more often, with eats fuel)
Fix those CELs and the car will run better, should ever get better mpg when you keep your foot off the floor. Which after a D to B swap is difficult to do.

fix your CELs. WHICH automatic B series?
Besides that, do you figure that maybe your bad gas mileage stems from the fact that you just got a new mod...and you keep wanting to "test" it out?
