sohc vtec question

Default sohc vtec question

i heard somewhere that the cam in automatic sohc vtec motors were different than the ones in motors that were equipped with manual transmissions. Is that true? thanks alot.

I know they are for the dohc motors. Probably for sohc, too.

give me a specific model (2dr/4dr, ex/lx/dx) and year and I'll check for you right now. I checked a few real quick and they have the same part #s, but there may be a few that are different.

i swapped in a sohc vtec zc from japan that i got through an engine dealer. it was an automatic in japan but i only got the longblock. it just doest seem as fast as my old d16z6. its in a 94 ex. o yea, and the car has a manual tranny.

thats only in the y8. the z6 used the same throttle body.
