an intake will help out the most IMO, for a cheap mod, then id get a new exhaust, you may even gain a few horses while your at it

An intake, yeah, that's a cheap solution, but it still won't do the trick completely. Run a cam in your SOHC. When I used the Skunk2 Stage 1 cam, my Y8 sounded mean when VTEC came on. Didn't necessarily mean my car would start moving faster, though. But based on the sound (if you couldn't see my car), you'd think I was really fast or something. A cam will do wonders in increasing the sound of a SOHC's VTEC x-over. However, I do hope you'll buy a cam with the intention of going faster and not just for the noise.

Oh, and the only mods at the time were the cam, cam gear, A'PEXi header, and a CAI. I was using the stock exhaust and fully dyno tuned with a VAFC and WBO2.

think about it this way man. since vtec is only on the intake side, it would be wise to have the less possible intake system. i.e. meaning the best intake, skunk or jg manifold, itr tb or 68mm,and a good camshaft. personally i dont like zex or comp cams. but thats my opinion. every single cam owner has thier own opinions on their cams. i would try a bullfrog or crower. i say bullfrog though.

I set off alarms in cars when it screams past them. All I really have is an iceman intake while doing WOT.

An intake works really well but just save your money and buy an actual DOHC VTEC engine.

what a tool. he says sorry for the caps even though he uses them. wtf is the point of vtec kicking in loud, its not like its gonna make you faster if your car is more loud.
