Default Is a SOHC vtec head on a non vtec block

Is a SOHC vtec head worth the money to put on a 97 4 door civic with i/e/cam gear/and 75 shot ? i already have the 93 ex tranny

Yes, why wouldn't it? Flows better plus VTEC.

Have you found a head to buy? How much? If you can get it inexpensively, do it. It should give you between 10 and 20 hp. (Assuming the same power gain between a DX and an EX) I forget if it was the 1.5 with 106 hp and the 1.6 non-vtec with 115 or if the 1.6 non-vtec had 106 hp. Any back-up would be appreciated.

I did it on my daily , nice inexspensive way to gain a little power + M@d Vtak y0 !

im unhappy that my car weighs 3300 pounds i was wondering after i do the swap with my nitrous jet at 50would i be able to beat a 2 door 94 civic with a USDM GSR with a DC sport header and a b16 tranny ?????

your car should not weigh 3300 lbs. if it does, you have something wrong....
Anyways, yes you should be able to pull that civic

my fault i ment to say 2300 lpounds ol well i wonder what all cars i can beat with mini me swap with a fully built head and a wet 75 shot with i/h/e/cat less/?????? REMBER my car is a 4 door ek sedan

you should easily be able to pull a high 13/low 14 if not better with that setup.
