Default SOHC VTEC cam lobe and follower wear pic

My D16Y8 has a worn out VTEC cam lobe and a follower. The cam has worn down to the softer metal core and also wore a 1mm deep groove on the follower. And it only occurred on the last vtec lobe closest to the distributor (passenger side).

Since my front driver side wheel bearing has gone bad after 85K miles of street and hard track usage. I think the cam might have gone dry because of the long right hand turn sweepers. What's your opinion on this? Has anyone has this problem before??? I always top off my oil after every track session. Thanks

Plus I always adjust my valve clearance every 15K...

wierd...those things don't usually just wear out like that. I would have to guess something was out of alignment.

If only one cam and rocker-follower is severly worn out, you should check the spring rates on all your intake vavles. It might be an out of spec/overly stiff vavle spring on that particular one.

I must ask what kinda of track useage and what were the mods? Only way your gonna starve the cam of oil is with some nice road race slicks. Unless you drive 2 minutes one way on a skid pad!

I took my car to the track after it was 3 months old.. And attend 6-7 track events each year for 3 years. My car's engine is fairly stock and yes I drove on slicks..
