SOHC VTEC build-up! some questions
OK, i have a z6 block and head. I am thinkin of buildin it up a little. I have heard that certian stock peices from other motors in the honda line fit. i just want to know what they are and what cars they come from.
All i can thnk of now is the pistons fromt he D16a1 and Rods out of some motor...not sure. does anyone know?
also, What should i do to the head. and what cam? and so on.
I know i should just get a b16a or a B18c, and i plan on it, i just wanna see what i can do with this spare motor.

you can use A1 (p29) pistons and rods, pistons should put you at around 11:1, A1 rods are necessary as tehy are little bulkier but made of weaker metal then z6, in which case it makes no difference
Zex cam is good but invest in Crower valve train with stage 2 cam.
head wise you can P&P, 3 or 5 angle valve work done. use d16y8 intake and b-series TB to gain few extra horses
should you swap? its up to you. but with less then $1500 you can have a motor that puts out close to 145+whp in d-series form....
for tranny use Si tranny with SRR FD and quaife LSD (btw. look in my sig)

Re: SOHC VTEC build-up! some questions (eg6ajk)
i know that the a1 pistons will work but i thought that the rods are too long and the base is alittle to wide. does anyone know the diameter and the legnth of the rod?

they are the same 137mm....what your most likly mentioning is B18A/b rods which are stronger and need machining to fin in d-series
