sohc vtec?
hey guys, i just put a d15b vtec in my 92 cx and was wondering how you can tell if vtec is hitting?
i bought a p28 ecu and had to run a seprate solinoid wire cause apparently one of the wires couldnt be located on the harness...?? the car does seem to be burning more oil now(haha) but wasnt sure if there was a sure fire way to tell. Also my idle is absolutly weird and will either pulse or sit at like 2.2k even warmed up... when its cold it sits at like 3ish... when i plug in the old p72(i think) ecu from the stock CX it idles fine... was curious what your input was, thanks guys

Re: sohc vtec?
p72 is a integra gsr ecu so that should make your car run like poop and the p28 comes from the 92-95 ex and si that is the correct ecu you should be running for your application and to know if your vtec is engaging you should be able to hear the crossover or see a faster gain in rpm there are other ways to test the voltage at the soliniod to see if it is running properly but i am not sure the spects on that.

Get a CAI or SRI so you can hear it better, or run wires from the solenoid to a light.
Something is wrong with the P28 it sounds like. And the CX does not have a P72 ECU, that would be from a B18C1.

I used be able to feel the crossover. Theres a stop sign at the bottom of a hill. On a rainy day I would take off and give it about 3/4 throttle and not move my foot. When it hit crossover, I'd feel the tires break loose.
Worked everytime.
