SOHC Turbo project...injector size
So I'm planning on slapping a turbo on the all mighty D16Y8. I'm going the homemade (semi-homemade) turbokit route. Question is....what size injectors to use? I'm thinking 370cc from RC injectors. I saw on eBay a set of DSM injectors, I believe they were like 450cc or something like that. Should I go with those, or the RC injectors (maybe with higher flow?)

Well i am running DSM 450's. And they work great. All you have to do is modify them a lil. Not sure how much of a plug and play they are on a Obd2 car. Also you will need something to run the injectors.(i.e. VAFC, Hondata, uberdata, etc, etc..) Dsm's can be had for anywhere from 50-100 bucks.

whats your HP goal? it would be better to go slightly larger then you will think you will need. you won't be at a high duty cycle, and you have room to tweak other things to add power without these holding you back.

Plan on boosting just 8psi. Nothing too major. Intercooler, the works. Saw a project SOHC HB putting out a little over 300hp.

buy used parts i also have some dsm 450s work great radio shack resistors, although i highly recommend a resistor box from a crx or other older car over the garbage $1 mexico resistors. also, reprogramming your stock computer to work with the larger fuel injectors and boost is by far the best way to go, but if you have a hard time finding a cheap enough way to do it (obd2) then make sure you stop by the aquarium store for some check valves before you tune with an afc or something like that, but with 8psi on a stock engine i would want to retard timing in boost which you need the msd btm or equivalent. this brings us back to reprogramming the stock ecu.
i think im going to fast good luck on the project.

DSM injectors are great for the price. you can find them all over ebay. if u do choose them i suggest you send them to get cleaned. you never know how old they are or clogged.

you cant use 450's without a way of controlling them ie afc, or rom program such as uberdata, chrome ......
450's are good for like 300ish whp, which is beyond the limits of your stock motor. look to get the black tops as they are from obd2 eclipses and that might save you from switching to obd1 honda injector plugs

go ahead and go with the 450's it'll be a cheaper deal. all you need to do is run some resistors and if you go with the blue tops, get some obd1 clips.

Re: SOHC Turbo project...injector size (JDM-Civic-Hatch)
obviously you cannot simply bolt the 440s or 450s in and expect it to run perfectly, they are almost twice the size of factory. you def need some sort of management. safc, uber , crome, hondata

go rc 440cc with obd1 plugs, **** peak and hold injectors yes they are cheaper but they don't idel as well, as the sats
also the lucus 440cc are good for turbo they shot a laser style spray of fuel witch works ok with turbo, i ran some for 1 year on my boost y7 @ 12 psi
till i sold it

Re: (PK SPEED)
well if your motor is stock and depending on what turbo you use 8psi should put at around 180-190 depending on how good your car is tuned, and the stock injectors are good enough.
