If the option to leave it free is default then it shouldn't matter. It's ht members responsibility to keep it clean. If you don't like a free poll, then tell a moderator to get rid of the option. I leave it free for more input.

d's from one standpoint do tend not to have the flash or appeal of a DOHC, but pricewise, they are pretty fun as I am learning. chances are you have a better chance of getting free d stuff just because people chuck their d's. Try that with a b. hell some shops just chuck a gang of d's after swaps. plus no real carb issues.

duh! I would like a turbo and a B. I'm not getting both. I may save up for a b18 or b16, or I could turbo my perfectly reliable, yet underpowered, D. I just wanted to know how many people are on the "swap it" side, and how many are on the "turbo it" side.

but that TD40H will only go so far (specially on a d16) but if you want 'quick' and fun, then theres nothing else better for ya......

Re: SOHC turbo.
I love turbo ex's and stuff. People always ask...why would you wanna turbo a sohc......I love to answer...because it will beat your DOHC! A good friend has a 00 ex with 10psi boost intercooled....on stock internals runs like 13.7s....Cheap bolt on kit, fuel managment..and save lots of money..and also when you tell them you just have a fancy air intake rerouting..and you beat there gsr by few car lengths....thats the best!

Can I put a turbo on my slow *** DX? How does it work? What other parts should I replace/add when putting a turbo? And lastly, how much does a turbo cost?

all i can say is read the sig...and take my 1/4 mile time in perspective....i ran on 13 inch steelies with 175-60-13 tires...i dont know y but i did...if i brought sum nicer tires i can easily hit 13.7...at .53 bar.....so u tell me if a hybrid can do this with street tires under $2800....D series rules..for now at least

Re: SOHC turbo. (eg6turbo)
Yup, I'm all for a turbo D; I'll be boosting my D16Z6 soon. I plan on a Greddy kit, with a custom mounted (and very discrete) Izusu FMIC (courtesy of JalopySiR, gotta love the h-t hookup ), and Hondata, plus some other goodies, like in-tank fuel pump, injector upgrade, BOV, a few other things that slip my mind at the moment...
I'm going to just buy parts gradually, then install all at once when I have everything I need to do it right. Been a bit slow going though, had some family financial issues to attend to before I could do anything frivolous (relatively speaking) like turbo my car, but the way I see it, the best things in life take time!

Turbo all the way. If you have a car with a D-series, make it a turbo. If you want a B-series engine, but the car that comes with a B!
I'll post pics of my setup after its done, should be toward the end of April. I only have a shift **** on it now.....but its getting a lot of parts here shortly.

Re: SOHC turbo. (eg6turbo)
IMO, this should have never been asked. It is all based on personal experience. For me, I love my sohc turbo but I hate using it in an autox. The larger turbo has a real parasitic effect on the cars performance in such a short course. Of course, if I had a larger engine in there with the same turbo, I would not be so unhappy.
Make up your own mind and do your own research. Hell Stupa Street can at least give you more info than just a bunch of opinionated computer geeks.
Its not always about power, the total amount of money you spend, or how fast you can get down the 1/4.

Well, isn't a T3 turbo a little on the large side for a D-series. A T28 or T25 would give much better low end response and very little lag in comparison to a T3.
