SOHC Tranny Options
I just wanted to know what options us D series owners have for close ratio trannies.
I know that the Sohc Vtec trannies usually have the closest gear ratios.
Which one has the closest gearing out of the box. what year, what engine?
Would it be best just to swap a smaller Final Drive? rather than swapping a different tranny?
thanks for all the input

Re: SOHC Tranny Options (Civtek)
I believe the closest geared tranny stock is the JDM ZC (D16A?) tranny, but that only bolts up to 88-91 d-series engines/chassis.
the closest geared 92-95 (possibly to 99) D-series tranny is the EX/Si, i beleive there is some minor difference between the two, but i'm not too sure of it.

If you want a killer set-up, try this:
Cable:
ZC gears with the Si FD, or even better the SRR 4.929FD.
Hydro tranny:
Zc gears in an Si tranny with an Si FD or again, the SRR 4.929FD.
also IM eg6ajk about the O.E LSD D-Series trannies. They go for like $350.00 or so!
That would be my ideal SOHC tranny if I had the extra money for a SOHC project in additoion to my 1992 CX bitch.
