Default SOHC Edelbrock manifold is installed.

UPDATENext monday (10/20) it is off to Edelbrock for dyno session, followed by a trip to AEM for a week or two to design a new CAI for this manifold.

UPDATE Well, all I have to say is....NICE!

I "think" I can tell through-out the power band, however I know there is more power from 5,000 up....the difference is there. The engine no longer has that 3rd gear forever WOT pull.....there is a lot more pull in the upper RPMs. 1st winds out quickly, 2nd almost just as fast. 3rd, there is a noticable difference in how long it takes to go through the RPMs.

Yes, the intake adds a little volume to the sound. The intake is actually louder than my exhaust. Then I realized I don't usually drive with the passenger side window down....rolled that up and still the intake was more pronounced than the exhaust. I LIKEY!!!

I would recommend the Edelbrock Performer X intake manifold to anyone.....I really want to see the difference on the dyno and see how much is actcually phsycological and how much is real. The above 5K is REAL IMO.

Dyno will be scheduled soon for proof.

To Edelbrock (and Maruader) for this sweet manifold.

Well, Marauder came over and gave me a hand. We took our time installing it.

Here it is:

One of the things that needs to be fixed/changed is the way the intake mounts. Obviously you have to modify the intake.

Haven't even felt the butt dyno yet so, no comments there however, it will be on the dyno sooner or later and I will reply to this thread once I drive the car around a little.

Damn Spade....your fast at posting....I am barely home already! Had fun putting down N/A ricers on the freeway home with the turbo!

Yeah, would have gone faster with a lift....or maybe the right jack and jack stands! Damn Honda manifold brace! that's the only reason you need to get under the car.

Take her for a spin tomorrow....since your "busy" tonight! Oh yeah, you probably could have if I didn't oversleep and get their earlier!

Nice Spade...lemme know what you get from the dyno when you test it. I'll post up the sheet for the SKUNK2 IM when I get dyno'd too.

So do you notice any difference in the manifold?

looks good, how does it feel? And you have to post up the dyno numbers on that.

Also would like to know this. I think the Edelbrock has bigger plenums than the skink2 so I think the edelbrock would probably be better for turbo app.

Yes you would! Works just as well on N/A as it does turbo! The performance was designed and development on a N/A car and used in the turbo kit, and adds power in the same places over the stock manifold whether its N/A or turbo

Good job on the install guys. Look forward to seeing the dyno results on this. How long did the install take? I have read that the skunk2 IM requires you to raise your fuel pressure in order to see gains. Anything like that with the edelbrock?

Nice job, Spade. I'm very interested in seeing how this intake mani performs on an all-motor SOHC. If it does well enough, it might prompt me to rebuild my Y8 and slap this Edelbrock mani on.

The install took us just over 3 hours....but we had a few slow downs, like trying to jack the car up since the springs have squatted down lower, Spade's jack wouldn't fit, but found a piece of wood to drive up on. And the manifold brace put up a fight! I also let Spade do more of the work, I just assisted.

You should see about 4-5 whp as a straight bolt-on. Don't know now much if you tuned it.

That looks good. I'm assuming this one is better than the skun2 IM?

I didn't start posting about it until I knew I was going to get it.

I'm going out driving soon...first just a trip around the block to see if there is going to be anything leaking, then to cruise the streets and freeway.
