Default sohc or dohc?

Ok so heres the scoop, Im rebuilding my D15. Obviously its a mini me so im lookin for the most power from 0-70. Acceleraton over top end. Right now im putting oversized domed pistons in. 12:1 compression. Im now looking for a head. So heres my question. . . Since i can either V-tec it or make it a DOHC, which would be the best?

The z6 vs the zc!!

Heres the thing.... vtec is electrical so sometimes it might not work all the time, yet when it does and the car is tuned right its mean. The DOHC will have great mid and top end combined with a 12:1 compression explosion in the block.

What do you think?

The DOHC ZC head doesn't fit, I know its technically a D-series engine, but it doesn't fit. Complete OBD1 DOHC ZCs aren't all the much though.

just go ahead and finish the mini me, but you have 2 heads to choose from... you have the z6 head and the y8 head. I've always heard that a y8 head will give you more torque on a mini me though...

ive done a few mini me swaps...ive ginni piged mostly everykind....to get the best out of your set up is use a y8 head...if your going to turbo i say use the z6 because they have longer horns on the intake manifold...oh...and to make it last longer use aftermarket head studs...dont take anyshort cuts (use old studs) oh yah....since your going for a good 0-70 pull use the z6 tranny....short gears...dx trannys are good if you gonna turbo...

Yeah a good 0-70 car would be nice for street racing lol.. at least from a dig.. what kinda car is the motor going in?? If it is the 92-ups, I would keep the Si or Ex tranny from a 92-95 or put in a 96-00 model tranny, the 96-00s have a lower 2nd gear than the 92-95's and they have steel shift forks in them.. If it is a 88-91 car I would get the rare, ZC tranny.. it has the 4.43 final drive in it .. but it has to have a half shaft and different axles.. well worth it if you're going to be going from 0-70 though..

not entirely correct. some have successfully done a "Hydra" mainly with the first gen dual cam zc head on a single cam 1st gen crx si block.

I thought you had to do modifications to do that.
