sohc crower stage 1 (anyone runnig this?)

I have a crower stage 1 cam for my d16y8. I've heard all the stories that these cams suck. Is anyone running this profile? What kind of gains are there? I know this cam is designed for turbo. I'm planning on boosting in the future. but for now I'm n/a. Am I gonna see any gains with this cam?

zex 59300 would yield better gains. However it is comparable to the crower stage 2. The stage 1 should yield decent gains. Seems like I read somewhere between 5-7hp for the stage 1. I was researching crower a while back, but after seeing all of the pics of broken crower cams, I kinda changed my mind.

in import tuner they put a stage two cam and springs in some crappy car and they had some monstrous gains. Like 35hp but i believe the car was turboed as well. Still 35hp is nice. Stock though, idunno what you'd get

you should be able to run the zex cam with stock valvetrain as long as u keep the stock rev limit- but the zex cam is on crazy backorder cause i tried to order one the other day. as for the crower cam- i also hear bad stories about them breaking, and personally would not risk it.

I ran it on stock valvetrain, you don't need to upgrade for that cam. If you just want to, I always suggest skunk2.
