sohc builds?
whad up HT
so recently i aquired an eg and this time its a sohc (d15b7 non vtec), ive had a few hatches and a del sol but theyve all been dohc's.
i thought it would be interesting to build a sohc, (read super streets 700whp sohc ef wagon build) but i dont really know much about them or how to approach a build setup
with the sale i also got a d16 vtec head, with a p2p ecu and obd conversion harness
so i guess here are my few questions
1.
do any b series parts fit d series motors? and would what would be a good trans? its a 5 speed now, but is it possible to put a bseires tranny in? or would i have to go si for different gearing?
2.
i know b series have an intake and exhaust cam and gear, and different valves, when it comes to d series parts are they made different, spec wise im assuming, and just in general?
3.
if the different series dont comply would i be able to bore and mill everything out to make them fit?
4.
ive been having a little trouble finding legitamate sites that have d series parts... would i be better off doing a b series swap?

Re: sohc builds?
you want to build a z6 or a6 block. the new cranks from a y8 and y7 only have one oilling hole for the rods as the older blocks had 2. maybe why the newer motors tend to spin rod bearings. depending if ur in a budget or not you can do an eagle vitara build or go with a better build with arias and scat rods. bisimoto has been to make the best boost cam for the sohc. if your looking for over 300hp i recomend a nice garret gt30r. tune on a hondata s300 or get a chipped ecu and run chrome pro
