SoCal: Carlsbad or California Speedway?
Bah, June 8th - 9th Fontana for those of you who want to go there.
May 19th (sunday) at Carlsbad for those of you who want to go there.....
I don't want to put forth the effort anymore......the track officals at Carlsbad are asses......Fontana hasn't gotten back to me.......eh, I have work to do.....sorry guys.
Carlsbad: Ghetto but we might get more runs. 12 to get in 10 per car.
Saturday races gates open at 1pm racing starts at 2 pm and ends at 6pm.......lines start at 11am.
Fontana: Noise restriction, Must be 18 or have written noterized consent....but a lot more funds.......I don't know the cost.....I will edit when I figure out.
June 8th or 9th is the next session..........Lines start 4-5 am......Gates Open at 8 am and racing ends at around 6 pm.......

Re: SoCal: Carlsbad or California Speedway? (Spade)
Ive been to both, and attended races at both. My dads been putting on VW Drag racing events since the 60's. Fontana has my vote. Alot nicer facility, and friendlier people working there. My only major complaint about Fontana is there is no sign at the end of the track displaying times/mph, and the anouncer does a poor job of leting everyone know what times the cars are running.
On another note, Irwindale's track is VERY nice. I know it's only 1/8th mile, but the facility is excellent. Just put on a VW Drag Day there, and the turnout was alot better than expected. I know 1/8th mile doesn't have the braging rights like the 1/4 mile, but there is an upside. For one thing the runs go alot faster giving people a better chance to get more in. And another thing is there less chance of accidents. Just somthing to think about.
If your serious about putting on an event at Fontana let me know. I know a few people there.

I don`t care. I`d rather it be as close as possible. I wanna bring my tents, bbq, and slip n slide for Dr Kimball.

The whole purpose of this poll is to decide where to have it......I am not going to be the Dictator who made it happen where people don't want.....democracy's allow you to not have to be the fall guy.....

I'd say Fontana cus it's a hell of alot nicer....but I'd much rather pay less and get in more runs than anything.
