Default So where do I start? ('00 Si content)

Hi all, figured this would be the best place to begin my journey...

I've just been handed the keys to a 2000 Honda Civic Si and the car needs some love.

It's been my friend's car for a few years now, and he and his wife both loved it. A few weeks ago, however, the wife was driving on the highway when the car in front of her ran over something and kicked it up into her front end. Damage is to the bumper, hood, passenger headlight, grille and top of the core support. Both airbags activated as well. The rest of the car is fine and it runs like a champ. They have a young kid and don't want to drive in the car without airbags (they decided to buy a new Sonata 2.0T). Rather then let the car go to waste, they've decided to give it to me... (car has salvage title already, was previously stolen and recovered).

Here is how the car looks sitting in my garage:

So my question to you all is basically, where should I begin? My immediate goal is to repair the cosmetic issues - I'm not concerned with performance upgrades at the moment. I will however be on the lookout for new wheels. The car currently has steelies with hub caps because the SI wheels were lost when it was stolen.

Is the core support piece that's bent welded in or bolted in? Do the Password:JDM fenders bolt on easily and are they worth the $?

Any tips/hints/questions/comments/etc are appreciated... thanks!

-Jeff

I would search around for used OEM fenders over password ones, it all depends what price you put on measuring and cutting the whole for the side marker. Also, I'd definitely replace that cluster if you want to call it an Si...that's not oem

I believe (could be wrong) that it was just a cheap gauge face change the owner did...

Good tip on the used fenders. The only difference between USDM and JDM is the side marker?

The password ones are not oem, they are aftermarket.so your better of getting used ones.

The core support is welded in by the way. If it were me, id do a tear down and inspect the whole front just to see what all needs to be replaced, and go from there. Buying parts is ok, but if you replace them on the car and have to take them off again, that's just a huge waist of time. Start underneath, then worry about cosmetics.
