So my SI got totaled parked on the street, what to expect now ?
So to make a long story short my car was parked on the street and 2 people who were driving got into a accident and one of the cars totaled mine.
I've already had the adjuster come out and he declared the car totaled yesterday. The person from his insurance that was handling my claim told me I should expect a call from the total loss department early this week.
My car was stock. The only thing I changed was the radio. I had a custom paint job on it.
The insurance that's going to pay me is state farm. I've read a couple stories half good and half not so good.
What should I expect ?
A problem I think I might have is to prove how much it's really worth. The claims adjuster told me they go by NADA. I'm looking at SI's on cars.com (only 1) & autotrader (private seller) so there arent many dealers selling them. I found another 3 on here on the first 5 pages in the marketplace. The value NADA has is $4400. I've done my research here and a couple sites as far finding some links of what people sell them for. I've also read to ask for all the DMV fees that go with buying a car. Some other people said show them pics of the car before the accident.
What are some things I could to maximize the money I'm going to get?
