So many swap choices! ! ! ! !
Geeze!
There are so many choices when it comes to engine swaps, in a way I an overwelmed. The choices are sky high. I can get a new d16y6, build it up, and eventually turbo charge it. I can get a b16, integra ls engine, integra gsr, h22(doubtfully) I am so confused as what I should do.
I want a good engine that has power potential, good mpg, reliable, and wouldn't mind if it was in my budget. I have a 1995 civic ex. If anyone has experience with swaps into the same car as mine, or a similar civic, please post with suggestions on what i should get and what i should do to it. Also if you have a hybrid civic you can tell me the engine, car, mods and 1/4 time. I greatly appreciate everyone who participates in this forum.
Good day m8s

If you wanna go FI get a B18B, B20 for the best results. If you already have a D16 you could go turbo and run mid 13's with a good setup.
If you want to stay N/A get the B16 or B18c1, whichever one fits your budget.

It doesnt matter how many engine options there are, what matters is what you want to do.
You need to keep certain things in mind, things like the fact that you have a EX witch is on the chubby side. so since you have a bit more weight then others you want to make nice TQ so the b16a wouldnt be my first choice.
If your going to turbo, then any of the motors you mentioned will make 350 WHP with the right build ups. That is more then enough HP to smoke your tires on the freeway in a FF car.
You need to think long and hard about what you really want to do with you car. otherwise youll get to this point to where you go "full race" or "put the car back to stock to sell it" If you plan ahead then you wont have to waste money on buying parts that you didnt need in the first place.
Road race?
Auto X?
drag race?
Try to beat SS camaro's?
Its all up to you think long and hard about it, unless you are made of money, but if you were you would have a TT 911 wouldnt ya? haha

For $4000 you could get a low mileage GSR motor and be happy Remember, there are always little things you got to buy for the swap. Little thing add up

Re: So many swap choices! ! ! ! ! (kingpen)
For your car, unless you are going to go with turbo, don't get anything under a 1.8L engine. If you are going N/A the GSRs are nice..Type Rs are sweeter, H22A might be a bit of a headache, but it is also sweet. Going N/A with a non-vtec motor is also do-able, but keep in mind the engines need to be built for revving to be reliable.
Here's the way I see it:
B16 - little torque, good top-end, good tranny for N/A.
B18B - nice torque and mid-range, needs better top end. LS tranny geared too long.
B20Z/JDM B20B - sweet low/mid-range torque. Needs better top end. Should be paired with a VTEC tranny.
B18C - good torque, good top-end, good N/A engine. Decent N/A tranny.
B18C5 - sweeter B18C5, great N/A tranny.
H22A- great torque, great top end, harder swap, may not handle as wel as a B-series.
