So many problems, so little money! Suggestions!

Check the classifieds for the WI for sale thread and post in there, saying you want a stock EG motor. Most people who have done swaps end up with their old motor just sitting in their garage/shed/whatever.
But if you are getting sick of the manual trans, just post up your whole car; people have bought worse cars than that before.

I found a b18b for $700. Owner says it has been port/polished, might need new wires, forgot which wires, and no tranny. Should I jump on this deal?

Re: (all_conference)
with all the stuff your gonna have to get to do the swap on top of that 700 you will be far over that 1000 dollar mark you set for yourself. best bet would be to stick with a d-series. if you chk some of the online shops you can get a full jdm d15b swap for around 500 bux maybe a lil more. i'd go with either a d16z6 or the d15b. they have similar power ratings. you might even get lucky if you decide to go the d15b route and get an lsd tranny.
