Default so, im finally sanding...

so now im finally about to start my sand work over the weekend... Any tips... After i sand the whole car down, over the weekend, i will spray it down with black primer... And leave it primed till i go get a paint job... The black prime... is it going to look really bad, or is it gonna look like a bitchin Flat Black paint job.. maybe it depends on how the primer is sprayed? Do I do a lot of Light sprays, around the whole car, so it looks even or it doesnt matter..?

spray evenly and sand all errors in the prime, keep a steady stream across the body and don't do 1 panel at a time, do the body work on the whole car, and then spray, trust me, itll go alot faster. just sand and spray, over and over and over, i think 2 coats of primer are best. and to flat black boy.

I read in a rag today for flat black paint job,
heat up the spray paint bottles in hot water bath ( you get a finer spray), use straight uni directional strokes, dusting the paint on following along body lines/curves, use multiple coats to cover areas evenly. Panel by panel. Wear breathing apparatus. Stay out of sun and wind/dirt. Drink beer.

DUDE, u read that off that SUBARU WRX PROJECT IN THAT MAGAZINE!! i read it to, instead of my teal green look, hopefully the PRIMER WILL LOOK LIKE A FLAT BLACK PAINT JOB, LIKE THAT SWEET *** SUBARU!!! DUDe, an can u gimme an example of the PANEL BY PANEL spraying... An you think i should SAND, lets say the front fender, LETS SAY I SAND THAT DOWN FIRST, n SPRAY IT ALL THEN, and then SAND ANOTHER PART, ORRR JUST SAND THE WHOLE CAR DOWN, then START SPRAYING..?!?!?!

Thats the article I read. I would sand everything at once, then mask off the panels to paint. So to get the fender paint on, mask the hood, windsheild, door and wheel. Then do the other side, to let the paint dry enough to put masking tape on it. I think they used anti-rustoleum spray. If it comes out to glossy, coat it in rubbing compound and scrub. Stick to the low grades of sand paper to keep out the gloss too like 320 grit and below.

If you do the squirt squirt technique on the spray, you can limit the velocity and volume of paint you get, limiting the wetness and chance of dribbles.

When you spray continuously, the paint builds up by the nozzle, and gets flung onto your work when its drip size, which is messy. This is not easy and tires your finger out.
