1. i was bored and i enjoy working on my car. 2. it's a cheap mod. 3. i noticed a difference, not like i lost 100lbs. enough for me to notice though. 4. after i removed my carpet due to a water leak and mildew in the cabin, i didn't like the way it looked. decided to remove the sound deadening to give a cleaner look. 5. new carpets for 92-95 civic are quite expensive. there is alittle more noise in the cabin after i removed the carpet, but i find the noise to be the same with or without the deadening. |

looks tight, i saw some dude on here before that removed 100+ lbs by removing all kinds of sh*t from his hatch he used dry ice to removed the tar/sound deadening i think the thread is still around if you search.

That is seam sealer around those plugs...you don't want to remove it. It is basically sealing up the plug and is the only thing holding it in there. If you do end up removing the sealer and plug, you'll want to plug it up and seal it somehow anyway. Best to leave it there.

true story right there |
My sealer around the plugs froze in some areas and came out by accident when I dry-iced my interior. I haven't put them back in yet, but I'm sure I can use silicone or buy the OEM sealer from Honda.

yeah maybe hondabond, they seem to use that stuff for everything

you feel a difference after removing tar from your car?
that's as funny as my friend who swears he feels a difference after an oil change... |

Just go to Checker or Napa or any other auto store and get some seam sealer to use on those. Don't use hondabond because that stays pliable after it cures, seam sealer hardens. |

some of the plugs in my car came out as well i just went to the dealer and replaced them. i think i spent 15.00 or so on all the plugs or so. but i noticed a lot more cabin noise after removing my sound deading.

Re: (philosofy1)
Tar residue comes off SUPER easy with acetone... it's a paint solvent you can get at autozone or wherever... you could also use paint thinner... but the acetone works great... FYI even if it were 100lbs that means .1 seconds in the quarter mile. |
