how much water got on the intake, if its just a little bit no worry, just start your car up, but if theres enough u think may do damage let it dry out for a while. you got any pictures of the engine bay with the snow and wetness?

type of intake u got? (cold or short) how did snow get inside of the motor my car was buried also but no snow under the hood started up just fine, just got stuck in the snow alot

if u noticed snow on the intake, why didnt u just brush it off? u'll need a good amount of water to harm the motor. and the snow is probably blocking air from entering the motor

i doubt you hydrolocked because snow can't melt in freezing temps
your sensors probably got wet causing something to malfunction
maybe tps or iacv

i had something very similar happen to me except without any snow, just REALLY COLD TEMPERATURES.

last week before the snow it was about 0° and my car hasnt been able to start since then. its too damn cold to try to trouble shoot it, plus with the recent snowfall its just more trouble than its worth for now. the battery is strong, it just sounds like its not getting either fuel or spark (although the fuel pump DOES prime itself).

possibly the coil decided to crap out?

i'll just have to wait and see

does the car turn back on? possible that it hydrolocked if the filter had a lot of water on it. but most of the times the filter has to be fully submerged in water for it to hydrolock butu never kno. take spark plugs out crank motor get the water out put new plugs in wait for the air fitler to dry turn the car on c if it starts.

that may be true but he said he turnded the car on and that would have probaably melted alot of the snow. it would have to melted alot of snow for you to intake so much water though.

I wish you luck man!! I'll make sure to check mine before i start it up (thanx). havent even seen what it looks like probably just as buried.

If snow made it into the engine bay to effect the tps or iacv ( which I highly doubt since there pretty well enclosed ) the snow would melt from the temp of the engine.

Ha Ha! My hatch looked exactly like that on sunday man....all i could see was the back end. I'll have to find a picture. It's more than likely electrical. My buddies car which was also buried wouldnt turn over, low and behold we opened it up and the alternator was packed with snow.

whats up massachusetts.. i wish i was at home cause i'd post a pic of my car looks exactly the same!!! GODDAMN SNOW

i bet the heat from your engine melted that snow and saturated your intake with water. I bet it wasn't enough to hydrolock, but enough to clog it so its now starving for air.. Car won't run right if the filter is clogged. Take it off, bring it in the house to thaw (now its probably frozen/ 5 degrees this morning at my house), clean it, and re oil it and then try.

If the filter is submerssed in snow, it's probably starving for air. It'll get just enough to idle and such, bust as soon as you start pushing the throttle, injectors spray more + not enough air going through the filter = flodding/stall. Dig your filter out, in fact take the whole intake off and make sure there's nothing in there. Make sure your exhaust isn't plugged either.

I have to say it... holy DAMN!!! That's the most snow I've ever seen someone's car buried in, and I live in CANADA too! ******* winter...

Luckily your not on the east coast.

We got hit with around 55+cm of snow.......with strong winds on top of that so the drifts are retarded!
