Default So i got in an accident.

A girl hit me from behind, made a dent a small scratch...$400 in damage to repaint and repair the 1/4 panel. I am thinking of repainting the entire car by paying the cash difference

what do you think.

I totally agree because i have gone through enough body work and a paint job with my 2 old civics...what i learned is (common sense) that if i just fix the 1/4 panel it will always be shinier than the rest of the car since it's new paint vs old paint and no matter how much i buff it or polish it, i it will always be like that and that will bother me a lot. I am a perfectionist

If you got the cash have the car repaint/color changed.

If you repaint it however, it may not match the rest of the car..depending on your existing paint's condition. How much will it cost to repaint? Do you know any reputable shops that can do a good job? If you can get it done for say around $1000 (minus $400 = $600 total) then I'd say go for it

if U don't have a body kit and plane on getting one get then just get the pannel fixed because if U paint and then get the kit and mold it on the U r gona have to have the car repainted

Happened to one of my boys once, he was never the same.

I would just get it fixed, But if you can squeeze a nice repaint of red. Also a bonus. Repainting in a dffrent color nd havig it look great always costs cash.

Call me blind but I can't see anything that a little polish can't take out.

if u plan on gettin a body kit sometime, don't even fix it, just save all that money and get a paint job after u get ur body kit, who kares if ur quarter panel is scratchd newais, it'll save u a lotta money just to wait til u get ur body kit, if u don't want a body kit though, just repaint it, or go to the junk yard and see if u kan find a quarter panel that matches ur car, hehe

Whats all this talk about body kits? Unfortunately, everyone is right about the color match. If you only paint the panel, it will clash with the the rest of the body. If you are a perfectionist, like many here, save up and do a total repaint.

A. I sincerely doubt he is going to get a body kit, this is Honda-Tech.
B. A rear 1/4 panel isn't really a swap out piece as far as I know.

I would just paint the whole car either red or silver depending on what you want. The newly painted section is going to look different than the rest of the car depending on age/condition of paint.

it doesnt look bad at all. with the choices youve listed, i would say replace the 1/4 panel. but if i were you id take the cash and leave that tiny scuff.

well said. paint is my last concern. i have deep scratches in my rear bumper and chips in my front. i'd just dump that money into more stuff under the hood

a little dent or scratch doesnt mean anything when your too fast to see

good luck with whatever u choose man

If your paint isn't oxidizing or faded I'd say just fix the panel and roll with it...
