I happen to run into a center divider yesterday morning after work and crashed into a local Valero gas station. Luckily im still alive and barely missed some gas pumps but i was trying to avoid a tweeker who darted out on a ten speed in front of me and i over corrected hitting maybe 4 strait sided curbs AFTER i hit the median. background info, anyways so my front end suspension is shot, all of my new Si wheels are fckd with 3 blowout hankook tires, i snapped a bolt clean from my front drivers side lca, not to mention my front strut assemblys are bent along with my skunk2 coils that i guess are shot also. my front drivers side wheel at the accident was stuck into the wheel well (possible axel problem) so i cant turn my steering wheel. All bad.

My questions are what type of suspension setup should I go with to replace the messed up 94 EX coupe susp. (ie 99-00 SI lcas and what not, GSR) and also what should i look out for when i check out the rest of the damage under the car. My new front end is still in tacked and fine besides the minor drivers side fender damage, the damage was all to the wheels and suspension. i will post pics later today thanks for any help.

make sure it didn't tear out anything or bent any of your chassis before thinking about getting a new suspension.

Very good point. Make sure to inspect your subframe really well....safety first! Sorry to hear about the mishap

sorry to hear about the crash man. check the frame and any other parts that you would even THINK to be a bit damaged. like they said. safety first.

ya sometimes it's worth 160 bucks or so right off the bat to have it inspected w/ a lazer frame machine, just to make sure there's absolutley nothing wrong or out w/ the frame or sub frame b4 start slappin new **** into it

Other than that, I have no recommendations about suspension 'cept stock, I like the stock one b/c it's high as expletive and with roads like mine, makes bottoming out a lot harder

Drive your e-thug *** through the city sometime - I doubt you could make it w/any issues. Many studies have shown that NOTHING replaces actual driving. No matter how 'good' of a driver you claim you are, even the OP's mom is a better driver than your 16 yrold punk *** (no offense to OP).


Sorry to hear about your crash - **** can happen no matter what speed. Best thing to do is spend some time at a very cheap strip joint ...then nothing will surprise you again Seriously though, its always better to stay on the road (brake) than to try swerving, besides when conditions are 'perfect'. But we all know how easy it is to determine when conditions are such in 1/10th of a second.

damm if its like that most likely the frame is bent. if it is just get a new car. once its been in an accident and the frame is bent, it will never be the same

If your Frame Checks out, go with a Teg Susp Setup. Much better initial setup then what came with the civic

Hell with a 94 you could even install an Integra Type R suspension - but I don't recommend it. You'd have to get a ITR-specific shocks, so it'd work with the unique-to-ITR rear LCAs.

Provided your frame checks out okay, I'd just reinstall stock components. Unless you can find a deal Del Sol or Integra parts, since they're (mostly) interchangeable, and cheaper is cheaper. Probably should post here, or at least search through the archives, before plunking down cash on any non-stock parts.

AFAIK Civic/Integra/Del Sol parts are interchangeable because they're almost identical. That's why I say go stock unless you can find deals on other parts that'll also work.

uh... i had somewhat of a same experience...
i definitely JUMPED over a center divider and had a couple of rims gone
tires popped and bumpers gone
this is what was gone...

Everything that had to do with Suspension, Axel/alignment, wheels, some other minor stuff...
but it was about 2000 in repairs of STOCK parts + front and rear bumper that were not painted.

FYI: Just my experience.

yeah, definately, I'm sorry to say I've been in quite a few accidents in my life (not all of them me driving), and I have to say, there's no way I should be alive, but for some reason I am, friend rolled his vette doing about 155 when a truck got to close on I-84 and he had to veer off the road, and the same friend doing about a 130 in his Z-28, spun that and a tree went through the engine...yes, THROUGH the enging, as in the tree was sticking straight out of what was left of the hood..there's no way I should be alive at this point, but for some reason I am... so all I can say is count ur blessings bro, and like I said b4, sorry about the car
